Gmail/Google Apps Email Setup on iPhone

  1. Open “Settings” from the main iPhone menu
  2. Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”
  3. Under “Accounts”, select “Add Account…”
  4. Select “Microsoft Exchange” account type
  5. Enter the following in the boxes
    1. For “Email”, enter your gmail or google apps email address
    2. For “Domain”, leave blank
    3. For “Username”, enter in your full gmail or google apps email address
    4. For “Password”, enter in your gmail or google apps password
    5. For “Description”, enter in a description you would like to see in the mail client as account name
  6. Click “Next”
  7. When prompted “Cannot Verify Server Identity”, select “Cancel”
  8. For “Server”, enter “m.google.com”
  9. Click “Next”
  10. Select which features to sync to your phone
    1. Switch “Mail” to “On” or “Off”
    2. Switch “Contacts” to “On” or “Off”
    3. Switch “Calendars” to “On” or “Off”
  11. Click “Save”
  12. Thats it, your new gmail/google apps email account should show up under whatever you entered for the description. Enjoy!
