By day my name is Brian Schuster, but when gaming on my PC or PS3, I am known as goochpicker. In reality, it was a name I came up with a couple of years ago when setting up my steam and games for windows live accounts. Not only was the gooch a term I used a lot, but the name itself is humerus and gross, two things I enjoy! At first I went by the gooch, but of course that was taken most places online.

After I started using the alias goochpicker more and more, I realized that it was unique because it was one that was not used anywhere. I guess most people think that it is disgusting, but that just makes it more amusing to me. I registered not really knowing what I was going to do with it. At first, I had it setup with a rather distasteful graphic that I used for my screen name icon, leaving up a coming soon construction image. Of course, I never go around to finishing the site, mainly because I didn’t know what I wanted.

After a while, the website literally just fell out of my mind, and I went on living my life. Then, during this past Christmas shopping season, I managed to get a hold of an old Macintosh Classic II on eBay for a respectable price. When it arrived, I all of a sudden thought it would be a good idea to do a YouTube video of the item and its unboxing. I filmed it and edited it on my computer. When creating the opener, I was originally going to use goochpicker, but I had already dedicated that alias to gaming and my mobile activites. So, as an arm of goochpicker, I created the Techgooch name.

At first I was going to keep the Techgooch a YouTube only thing and just do tech reviews. Of course, this was before I really got into doing the reviews, but then I started getting people watching the videos and commenting. I realized that it was something that I not only enjoy, but could help others with things that I had already learned. Am I an expert in doing these reviews, no, but I do enjoy doing it and try to do them in an unbiased way. The next step was to figure out how to expand content so I could post updates as needed and provide content aside from the YouTube videos, this is where the website comes in.

While is already registered and not affiliated with me whatsoever, I thought this was the perfect union for and my new formed content. I registered the Techgooch twitter account shortly afterward and am currently trying to get more content.

So that is my story. Of course it is not everything, but it paints a pretty good picture of how the Techgooch came to being. I am currently working on expanding the grasp of into realms I didn’t even imagine. Of course, there is always room for improvement, and I am always interested in others helping out. If you are interested in becoming a part of, please send me your information using the contact link.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the site, I made it especially for you!
